Steampunk Starwars.

In Visual Arts on January 21, 2008 at 1:00 am

Over at White Chapel, someone started a topic about “Steampunk Star Wars”. I had no idea what it was either. Essentially, there are these sketches that people are doing, of the Star Wars universe if it were… Oh, say 1914. Right around WWI. The airplane is only just beginning, and most mechanical devices run on steam power. Some of these are actually quite breathtaking. Click any of the files to get to the picture ONLY. Here are some of my favorites:

Vader Close-Up:

Here are some turn-of-the-century Star Destroyers:

Jabba with his Slave Girl (Leia) on a chain:

Jabba and Leia

Here’s a very WWI-ish, propaganda piece, Storm Trooper:

Empire Unite!

Another Lord [Kaiser] Vader:

More:

Mos Eisley Emperor Droids

Awesome stuff.
